Hauner Travels - Around The Block

 All about Brodie
Minimize

Hi there

My name is Brodie and I am travelling around the coast of Australia for a year. I am 9 years old. One of my favourite things is playing sport. I was born on the 7th of August 1999.
This is how I do school: On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday I go on to the Internet with my teacher Keith and my class. We usually do a half to an hour lesson. All the other times and days, mum and dad teach us for about three hours.
This is my daily life: I usually get up at 8 30 or 9 o’clock. We start school at  9.30 and finish around 12 o’clock. Then we just relax, play in the play ground or go out fishing and lots of other stuff. On holidays we go to bed at 9.30 and on school days we go to bed at 9 o’clock.
Comments: It’s really fun travelling but all the friends you meet you don’t see them again but sometimes you bump into each other again but not all the time. It’s fun because you do much more things like tours, fishing and lots of other things.
We have nearly reached 4 months of travelling:
  • Port Augusta – We basically played in the wood play ground for the whole day.
  • Tumby Bay – I made lots of friends and Tamara caught the biggest fish of the trip.
  • Coffin Bay – My cousins came and they come from Germany and my Oma and Opa. We swam with the tuna.
  • Streaky Bay – We started school for the first time this year. It was so HOT.
  • Ceduna – The flies were so annoying. Dad and I went fishing on the boat and caught some whiting and tommies.
  • Nullarbor Plains – We survived two long days of driving along the Nullarbor Plains and going on the longest straight road in Australia it was 146 kms and that was when we first got to WA.
  • Esperance – Sammy the seal lives at the jetty with his family. We met up with dad’s aunty and uncle.
  • Hopetoun – We went to the Fitzgerald River National park. We also went to the big play ground.
  • Bremer Bay – We saw dad’s uncle and aunty again. I met some friends.
  • Albany – We went to Whale World. It had a 3D movie and it felt like you could touch it. Albany had Hungry Jacks YUM YUM.
  • Walpole – All of us including dad’s uncle and aunty went fishing and we caught lots of fish. We kept seeing the same sting ray all the time so we named it. We named it Scratchy. We also went to the Valley of the Giants. It was also dad’s birthday.
  • Augusta – Augusta is where the Southern Ocean meets the Indian Ocean. Dad and I went on the boat and we were near a cliff and a bit of it fell down and a dog was following us.
  • Busselton – The best caravan park I have been to on the whole trip. It had the longest jetty in the southern hemisphere. I made lots of friends.
  • Perth – We met up with Oma and dad’s cousin Martina. On mums birthday Oma, dad, Tamara and I went to the zoo. It is much better than Adelaide’s zoo. We also went to Mandurah for half the day.
  • Jurien Bay – I caught my biggest fish of the trip a Yellow Tailed Kingfish 53cms but dad caught a 76cm fish. It has the biggest jumping pillow in WA.
  • Geraldton – We went to the movies and watched Mall Cop. It was funny. We slept in the tent for the first time. We went to the water play ground.
  • Kalbarri – We did a canoe safari. It took two hours. We also made some friends. One night we went out for dinner. Tamara and I played in the play ground next to it.
  • Denham/Monkey Mia – We fed the dolphins by hand. We went fishing a lot and caught a lot. Emus just randomly walk around the town.
  • Carnarvon – We met up with our friends that we made in Coffin Bay. We went to the blow holes and saw some turtles. We went to the satellite dish.
  • Coral Bay – We made lots of friends. It was great snorkelling and skim boarding.
  • Exmouth – It was one of the best pools I have ever seen in my life.
  • Cape Range National Park – We free camped right by the beach. Caught up with some friends.
  • Onslow – This is where the crocs start to be seen going north. Some fishing caught nothing.
  • Karratha - I got my school books for term two. It had a really cold pool.
  • 80 Mile Beach - I didn't do my internet class because we didn't have range. Dad caught two big fish over a metre. The beach is good for finding shells.
  • Broome - Broome had the best pool ever .  It also had a cool water fall . We had Mac Donalds for dinner twice. We watched Nights Of The Museum II, it was funny .

  • Middle Lagoon - Tamara , Mum and i caught a 20 cm Green Mud Crab in a little rock pool . We tied a rope to boogey boards behind the boat and Dad drove the boat while we were on the boogey boards.

  • Broome again - We stayed at  a hotel for the first time on the trip. We  had Mac Donalds for breakfast every morning.
